The global movement for women’s economic empowerment continues!
Date: Tuesday, January 2, 2018
Following its establishment in January 2016, the UN Secretary-General’s High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment has now completed its mandate. The project, which facilitated the work and outputs of the Panel, has now ended as planned.
However, the work for women’s economic empowerment is far from done. UN Women and other High-Level Panel members continue to work to strengthen women’s economic participation, leadership and empowerment, and we invite you to join the global movement!
Please use this website to find inspiration, evidence and tools for your programmes, campaigns, advocacy, and other actions. Read the reports, study the recommendations, and learn from the toolkits. Engage online and offline, and share your knowledge and experience so that others can benefit and new partners can join to move forward the agenda for women’s economic empowerment.
“We must continue our efforts to ensure that the recommendations of the High-Level Panel are translated into action, that more and new stakeholders come onboard to work for women’s rights and economic empowerment, and that our findings influence global and national structures and processes and contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” —Ms. Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director, UN Women, and Member, UNSG’s High-Level Panel on Women’s Economic Empowerment
